Unless I’m out of town, I put my kids down to bed every night. I may be the main bedtime officiant for one, but I check in and spend time with each before the lights go out.

And every night, the same thing greets me:

A little person’s head, just peeking out of the covers.

My daughter is 12, my son is 9, so I know that they aren’t technically “little” anymore. And if the numbers alone didn’t make that obvious, the topics of our bedtime…
